The Frostlings and the World Undone

Updated: May 14

Once upon a time, in a world far away, there existed creatures unlike any other. These creatures were called the Frostlings, and they lived in a land of perpetual snow. The Frostlings were small, furry creatures, with big, round eyes and long, bushy tails. They were known for their love of snow and their ability to thrive in the coldest of temperatures.

But one day, something strange happened. The snow in their land suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a barren desert with towering mountains in the distance. The Frostlings were confused and scared, for they had never seen anything like this before. They looked up at the sky, but the moon and stars were nowhere to be seen. Instead, a dark, ominous cloud covered by the entire sky, blocking out any trace of light.

As the Frostlings wandered through the desert, they came across strange plants they had never seen before. These plants were tall and prickly, with bright, colorful flowers blooming from their spiky stems. The Frostlings cautiously approached the plants, but as they got closer, they realized that these were not plants at all. They were cacti, but they were unlike any cactus they had ever seen. These cacti seemed to be alive, swaying in the wind and emitting a strange, eerie glow.

The Frostlings were fascinated by these new discoveries, but they couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was not right. They continued their journey through the desert, passing by dormant volcanoes and mysterious structures that seemed to have been abandoned long ago. They could hear strange noises in the distance, and they knew that they were not alone.

As they reached the edge of the desert, they saw a massive tsunami approaching from the horizon. The sky had turned dark, and the storm clouds were getting closer. The Frostlings knew that this was the end of the world as they knew it. Suddenly, they were surrounded by a horde of zombies, their eyes glowing with an unnatural light.

The Frostlings were outnumbered and outmatched, but they refused to give up. They used the skills that they had learned in the snow to fight off the zombies, while also trying to figure out what was causing this chaos. As they battled, they saw a figure in the distance, standing on top of a mountain, controlling the storm, and summoning the tsunami.

It was a powerful sorcerer, who had been using dark magic to control the elements and create chaos in the world. The Frostlings knew that they had to stop him before it was too late. With all their strength, they fought their way through the zombies and reached the sorcerer. In a final showdown, they were able to defeat him and save their world from the end of days.

As the storm cleared and the moon and stars returned to the sky, the Frosting looked around at the aftermath of the chaos. But they also saw new life sprouting from the ground, and the snow slowly starting to fall once again. They knew that they had saved their world and brought balance back to nature. And as they looked up at the sky, they knew that this would be a story they would tell for generations to come. A tale of creatures, snow, desert, mountains, moon, starks, sky, flowers, cactus, end of the world, zombies, volcanoes, mystery, rain, storm, and tsunami.

I like to make up silly little things—tiny rituals, made-up names, imaginary rules for inanimate objects. It helps keep me grounded when life feels too serious or too loud. And honestly, I’ve found that anything, no matter how ridiculous or small, can be written into a poem. That’s the beauty of it—nothing is off-limits.
